Raw Material Planner
Do you have a strong analytical mindset and a passion for materials, planning, and cost control? If you’re motivated by cross-functional collaboration to improve processes, reduce lead times, and strengthen margins, this is an exciting opportunity to join Fjällräven and help shape how we plan, book, and manage raw materials across our collections.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As Raw Material Planner, you will be responsible for optimizing raw material and trim planning, bookings, and cost management in close collaboration with Buyers, Product Development, Design, Production and Controlling. This role bridges operational execution with strategic sourcing and supports fact-based decision-making across the material flow.
With a strong focus on accuracy, visibility, and efficiency, you will help ensure that material supply aligns with both creative ambitions and commercial targets—supporting margin control, lead-time reduction, and sustainable sourcing.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
In more detail you will focus on the following:
Coordinate and oversee raw material and trim bookings, forecasts, greige allocations, and planned production of core materials, ensuring alignment with seasonal production timelines, in close collaboration with Buyers, Controllers, and mills.
Support and manage price negotiations together with the Material Managers by ensuring that negotiated prices, MOQs, and pre-bookings are aligned with forecasted volumes and seasonal demand, based on analysis of raw material pricing trends and consumption efficiency.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date data on bookings, stock levels, deliveries, usage, and planned production volumes in internal systems and PLM.
Collaborate closely with Product Development, Design, and Controlling to ensure material feasibility, cost transparency, and readiness ahead of collection and production deadlines.
Contribute to the continuous development of processes and systems to improve material flow, planning accuracy, and overall transparency.
Ensure quality, sustainability, and compliance requirements are met across all material planning, buying and purchasing activities.
WHAT YOU’LL DELIVER
Improved lead times and production alignment through structured material planning and buying
Increased cost transparency and margin contribution driven by data and analysis
Strong cross-functional collaboration across key product and sourcing teams
Actionable insights supporting the future development of the Material Planning and Buying function
WHO YOU ARE
We think you could be a great match for the position if you possess the following traits and capabilities:
3–7 years of experience in material planning and buying, sourcing, production planning, or a similar role within textiles
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Textile Engineering, Materials, etc.)
Highly analytical and data-driven, with the ability to turn insights into action in a structured and detail-oriented way
Comfortable managing multiple material flows simultaneously and working with complex data sets
A clear and effective communicator who collaborates well across functions such as Sourcing, CSR, Production, and Design
Solid understanding of material sourcing, fabric construction, and supply chain logistics, including sustainability and compliance requirements
Proficient in PLM systems, with experience in Centric PLM as a plus, as well as Excel and data management tools.
