We are looking for a Garment Designer that will play a vital role in our product development team - creating qualitative technical and casual outdoor garment!
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Garment Designer you will design and develop functional, sustainable outdoor products that are aligned with Fjällräven’s design & repairability philosophy. You will create designs that embrace the company’s mission to inspire the world to move with nature and vision to create the most loved gear for a lifetime in the outdoors. This position will work with both technical and casual garments for men & women. You will work as part of a category team together with a category lead, pattern maker, buyer and hardware designer. This role involves travel several times a year, so we are seeking someone who is flexible and keen on travelling.
This position is part of the R&D Department and is based at our office in Solna.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Key responsibilities:
- Create original designs based on function, following the design and repairability guidelines of the Fjällräven brand.
- Contribute to market research, range planning, linelist creation, and design briefs.
- Be part of a category team working towards the brand’s financial targets.
- Creating and updating technical sketches to our PLM system on both new and running styles and use Clo 3D to visualise designs and develop new products.
- Attend fittings and work in collaboration with pattern makers and buyers to make commercial and functional designs that contribute to Fjällräven’s vision.
- Be involved in defining seasonal colours, ensuring new ones complement our core colours and work across product categories.
- Keep collection overviews and seasonal presentation materials current and impactful.
- Deliver presentations to both large and small audiences at internal sales meetings, as well as at external events with customers and the press.
- Attend trade shows, company events and take part in product development trips.

You’re a hands-on designer with a deep understanding of function and form. With a passion for the outdoors and sustainability, you approach every project with curiosity, craftsmanship, and a drive to deliver high-quality, purpose-driven design. You have an eye for detail and thrive in collaborative, fast-paced environments where your knowledge and creativity contribute to innovative products with real-world relevance.
Required qualifications:
- Relevant degree in Design (Apparel, Industrial, or Textile Engineering) or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in Design or equivalent.
- Knowledge about the outdoor markets and products.
- Possess excellent design and conceptual thinking.
- You bring a proven ability to create functional and commercial designs, as well as a profound knowledge of garment construction, patterns and textiles.
- A strong track record of delivering according to planned schedules and milestones on time.
- Highly skilled at delivering presentations, both spoken and visual.
- Demonstrated experience in the use of programs as: Clo 3D, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Keynote, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- You are a natural communicator and team player who builds trust across teams, with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage your time effectively.
- Excellent English communicative skills, both written and spoken.
